My brief biography

Peter is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems, School of Computing and Informatics Technology, Makerere University, Uganda. He has a PhD in Computational Linguistics, from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands. His PhD involved investigating the application of dynamic Bayesian networks in the Natural Language Processing sub-task of machine transliteration. 

He is a graduate of M.Sc. in Computer Science (Computer Information Systems option) and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Makerere University. In October 2015, he achieved a verified online non-credit specialization in Data Mining from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

His research interests include: Natural Language Processing (for low-resource languages, Machine transliteration, World English analytics); Data mining and Web mining techniques (Big data analytics, Health analytics); and Artificial Intelligence applications for the developing world (rule-based applications, supervised and unsupervised learning applications).
