My brief biography

Richard is a Lecturer at the School of Computing and Informatics Technology, College of Computing and IS, Makerere University, Uganda. His major areas of research and teaching include digital security and distributed systems development.

He has had many years of experience in managing computing projects in Uganda, including directing the provision of ICT services at the College of Computing and Information Sciences, Makerere University. Richard obtained a PhD from Radboud University, the Netherlands.

His research thesis focused on the design of bipartite markets for agricultural trade in developing countries such as Uganda. He is a lead researcher for the agricultural auction platform that is currently serving over 20,000 farmers and traders.

He also a graduate of M.Sc. CS (majoring in Digital Security) from Radboud University, and a BSc from Makerere University. He has since then studied security in digital platforms since 2004 and worked as a visiting postgraduate researcher at Radboud University between 2007 and 2010.
