My brief biography

Vincent Micheal Kiberu (PhD Telemedicine, University of KwaZulu-Natal)Vincent Micheal Kiberu has recently completed his PhD in Telemedicine at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Nelson Mandela School of Medicine. He has a degree in Bachelor of Science (Math, Computer Science), a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and a Masters in Information Technology, from Makerere University. He has also trained in Medical Informatics and Telemedicine at Center for Development and Advanced Computing, India. He is a member of the American Telemedicine Association. His PhD research focused on the development of an e-Health readiness assessment framework based on e-Health readiness domains, to guide the implementation and integration of telemedicine for clinical care. He has wide experience in the development of information systems and electronic data management. Vincent has been involved in data quality improvement and data use activities at the Ministry of Health. He piloted the scale-up of DHIS2 at HC IVs in Luwero district with an aim of assessing data quality in terms of timeliness, completeness and accuracy. Vincent has disseminated his research work on telemedicine in reputable health informatics journals and also presented at various international conferences. His primary research interests are in Data Science for structured and unstructured data, big data analytics, electronic data management, systems interoperability and standards frameworks.
