My brief biography

Joseph is an Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Computer Science and Information Systems, Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda. He is currently pursuing his PhD at the School of Computing and Informatics Technology, Makerere University.

His PhD research aims at developing the e-Health Enterprise Architecture (EA) and Health Information Exchange (HIE) Framework for Uganda. The framework is expected to harmonize the functionality within HIS, unify development and documentation of all e-health solutions in Uganda. It is also expected to address all issues that relate to HIE within Uganda’s Healthcare Sector.

He is also a graduate of Bachelor of Science (Physics / Maths), Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science (Makerere University) and Master of Science in ICT Management, Policy and Architectural Design (Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi, Uganda).

His research interests are in the fields of Enterprise Architecture, ICT Strategy and Policy formulation, e-Health and m-Health. He is interested in studies that focus on interoperability among HIS, barriers to the successful adoption of HIS, the technology-fit of HIS in the African context, usability and user experience of HIS. He has hands-on practical experience with EA Frameworks such The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) and Zachman. He recently published a paper in the Journal of Science and Sustainable Development that focused on the use of the EA approach to improve financial service delivery in Microfinance Institutions
